J. Grimes wrote this Ripoff Report against Ohana Rescue last week and since then Ohana and their followers are now accusing the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch for being the responsible party???

http://www.ripoffreport.com/ohana-horse-rescue-5/non-profit-charities/ohana-horse-rescue-501c3-non-p-107e6.htm

I was going to stay out of it and let the kids play their games, until Carrie crossed the line and went a step to far.

Below is one of the comments written on Ohana Rescue’s Ripoff Report

So you USE the ripoff report to make a point. whats that , nothing at all you say cna be believed.. works for me !! This is not out of context but abbreviated so not to waste any ones time with your trash. Grow up
NOW YOU GOT MY ATTENTION!!!

In regards to anonymous post above who quoted my words out of my blog:

“Beverly Levitt sent me a comment on my blog on the Ripoff Report. I didn’t accept it because it had nothing to do with the Ripoff Report or the point I was trying to get across. ”

I wrote a blog last week regarding this particular Ripoff Report written by J. Grimes. The significance of my blog was not so much to bring light to this particular Ripoff Report that J. Grimes wrote against Carrie Young and Ohana Rescue, but it was to clarify that Carrie Young with Ohana Rescue proved with the rebuttal that they wrote above that she was indeed responsible for writing a Ripoff report against our rescue, Domino Effect Rescue Ranch, last year on November 16, 2011. Carrie Young used her user name “horsesinneed” to compose the Ripoff report against us last year and then used the same user name “horsesinneed” to compose the rebuttal above.

https://dominoeffectexaminer.wordpress.com/2012/07/23/we-seen-this-with-our-own-two-eyes-no-rumor-here/

In my blog I was comparing the 2 Ripoff reports, I clarified how Carrie Young with Ohana Rescue has been trying to sabotage the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch since August 2011. Everything that is stated in this blog is factual with documentation to prove this.

https://dominoeffectexaminer.wordpress.com/2012/07/23/we-seen-this-with-our-own-two-eyes-no-rumor-here/

After I wrote this blog, Beverly Levitt wrote a quite extensive response to my blog “WE SEEN THIS WITH OUR OWN TWO EYES, no rumor here…(Quotes by Carrie Young)” Her response had nothing to do with this particular blog “WE SEEN THIS WITH OUR OWN TWO EYES, no rumor here…(Quotes by Carrie Young)”, so I did NOT accept her response, but I therefore wrote another blog regarding Beverly Levitt’s response to the previous blog “WE SEEN THIS WITH OUR OWN TWO EYES, no rumor here…(Quotes by Carrie Young)”

In the blog “Reunion of the Heart Scorned by Thrashing Waves of Fury” My first paragraph was as follows:

“Reunion of the Heart Scorned by Thrashing Waves of Fury

“Beverly Levitt sent me a comment on my blog on the Ripoff Report. I didn’t accept it because it had nothing to do with the Ripoff Report or the point I was trying to get across. ”

For those who do not understand plain English, this means Beverly Levitt sent me a comment on my blog about the Ripoff Report that I wrote comparing the 2 Ripoffs, the one that Carrie Young (horsesinneed) wrote against the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch and the rebuttal that Carrie Young (horsesinneed) wrote in this Ripoff Report against Ohana written by J. Grimes.

This is the blog I wrote below:

https://dominoeffectexaminer.wordpress.com/2012/07/23/we-seen-this-with-our-own-two-eyes-no-rumor-here/

I was simply explaining that Beverly Levitt’s response had NOTHING to do with the above blog regarding the 2 Ripoff Reports, ONE that Carrie Young of Ohana Rescue wrote against the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch and the SECOND one that Carrie Young wrote a rebuttal to, both with the same sign on name “horsesinneed’

My statement

“Beverly Levitt sent me a comment on my blog on the Ripoff Report. I didn’t accept it because it had nothing to do with the Ripoff Report or the point I was trying to get across. ” was referring to this particular blog and nothing else!!! It simply was not the appropriate spot to accept Beverly Levitt’s comment.

https://dominoeffectexaminer.wordpress.com/2012/07/23/we-seen-this-with-our-own-two-eyes-no-rumor-here/

I have been watching this unfold this past week, day after day, someone else jumping on the bandwagon to pass on hatred comments towards our rescue or whomever they think composed this Ripoff Report. I have been receiving hate e-mails from this group, seen posts here against us, and had people come to our page to attack us.

I have seen in several different spots, including here and throughout Facebook, that Ohana and their followers are accusing us for this Ripoff Report. Do you really think that Domino Effect Rescue Ranch is the only enemy that Ohana has???

Annonymous post: Unbelievable

“This is a vendetta being pursued against Ohana Rescue by another, so called rescue of questionable ethics, run by a convicted felon with no training, which is clearly shown in their pics on their FB page. This person, along with another, equally unbalanced person, is waging this war.”

Jennifer Facer Brown

“Why do rescues do this stuff? Pick on each other? This all so wrong. And it gives rescues a really bad name. And rescues, all of them will pay for this, by losing donations. people will not donate to drama. Ohana is one rescue I have known, and have for a long while. The negative reports are just that, and nothing more. They work very hard, as you probably do as well. This is wrong on so many levels, and only hurts the cause and the horses. Ohana through this situation, has not been as concerned about what you say, as they are about what folks read, and how that will effect the horses currently in dire need at their facility..So why cant you be that concerned, as well?”

diana628

Ya’ll need to knock it off. Rescues bashing rescues just doesn’t work. From where I stand it looks like Domino started this round with their unfair Ohana bashing. I say unfair, because I know some of the work Ohana has done with horses others couldn’t take, and I know the kind of help and advice they share freely FOR THE SAKE OF THE HORSES. Ripoff Report is a ripoff in it self. You should be ashamed to use it. They take claims from anyone and charge over $2000 to take false claims off the site. Domino you best hope you aren’t the next one reported to Ripoff.

Ohana Rescue, is one of the good rescues and Dominos “Rescue” is one of the bad.

Another Ohana Follower: Lee Buckley Ellis

I didn’t see that I was insulting you! Only asking a question or two. I see you have nothing nice to say to a curious new comer? That’s a shame! You are a true F*CKTARD! Really you are! Stop abusing and neglecting horses and Gods creatures! Stop blaming everyone else because you are too damn stupid to give a sh*. Grow the hell up and own up to the responsibilities that you have brought onto your property. Oh and another thing….you idiot….Feeding a horse hay off the ground will cause them to colic. You are the reason the one died! You are so dumb! You think they are not eating dirt along with that hay? DUMB*SS!

Your instincts are sh*….look at the pictures of how you are treating the animals! Oh and googling your name was HORRIFYING. You call yourself a “rescue” and I call you a pile of shit.

And then I see this today written by Ohana Rescue on her FB page:

Ohana Rescue “I am sure that is the name that they used..but they made a mistake on their blog, she admitted to writing the rip off..I will tell you more later, have to run…check out what is going on now…see the above picture, Kelly Blevins and Domino seem to think this is me, and that is more prove of slander because DE has met me, so they are letting Kelly run with this.”

After seeing this, curiosity brought me back to this page to indeed see another post against the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch, but this time specifically referring that we are responsible for their Ripoff Report.

I started a blog back in March 2011, to document the attacks and harassment by Carrie Young and Allan Wilson of Ohana Rescue, Ted and Karen Koran with The Critter Place, Sandy Woods, Nikki and Maryann Tobin, and the other neighbors Tom Logsdon, along with others who have jumped on board along the way.

Domino Effect Rescue Ranch Robert & Dinelle Ashcraft This is a fake rescue that asks for donations to help the animals in their care and they do not use the donations for the animals. Weeki Wachee, Florida

Domino Effect Rescue Ranch is owned by a Robert and Dinelle Ashcraft. They portray being Christians who care about animals. They find free animals on Craig’s List and then state that the animals are rescues and plea to the good hearted people to donate. These funds are not going to the animals because: The horses are eating the bark off the trees, the leaves off the palmetto bushes, and they are given cow hay to eat. Only getting fed once a day when they are fed, and only when people are coming out. Their feet are not seen by a farrier, and the horses have no vet care. They adopt out the horses at ridiculous prices, and without coggins. They preach that they are Christians and they talk a great talk, but if people would go out and see just how the horses are living. The number of horses at this time are 13 and they are living on less then two acres of sand. They are tied to barb wire to eat. They are chased by a pit bull all day long. The legs of the horses are constantly being cut by stumps in their yard. Please do not give a horse to Domino Effect Rescue Ranch, please look for another reputable rescue to rehome your horse too. They have been the cause of many horses being injured, and several deaths of horses due to their negligence. BEWARE, THEY TALK THE TALK, BUT CANNOT WALK THE WALK.

CARRIE YOUNG OF OHANA RESCUE and Maryann Tobin were seen together by a person surrendering their horse to Ohana, devising a plan to shut us down.

CARRIE YOUNG OF OHANA RESCUE and Claire North posted in the group “FLORIDA CITIZENS COUNCIL FOR AT-RISK EQUINES“ under fileskill buyers/traders/people to be wary of in rehoming your horse:

Just be wary of her. Dylan Spin: horse trader Samantha Lynne??????? unsure!

CARRIE YOUNG HAS BEEN THE MASTERMIND BEHIND TRYING TO SABOTAGE THE DOMINO EFFECT RESCUE RANCH SINCE AUGUST 2011.

IS THIS APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR FOR ONE RESCUE TO TREAT ANOTHER???

WARNING TO ALL RESCUES* YOU COULD BE NEXT ~ IF WE DON’T PUT A STOP TO THIS!!!

Carrie Young States “Things don’t just come your way and happen, you make them happen.”

How many times has Ohana claimed that “everyone” is out to get her and “everyone” is falsely accusing them for attacking others. How many times has Ohana protrayed themselves to be the INNOCENT PARTY…….Just sayin.

In the future, don’t publicize information if you don’t want recognized for doing this, because if you’re posting negatively against the Domino Effect, you may be seeking all the attention you desire. I’m not into the kid games. I don’t bash others in the privacy of my home hinding behind a screen name. I speak the truth and I post my documentation regarding what others have posted against the ranch. I am not seeking to hurt other rescues or other people, but to defend our name with the truth. You will never see me post an “anonymous” article without leaving my name. If you can’t leave your John Hancock, then you have no business posting it.

I DID NOT write this Ripoff Report above, but I tip my hat to the one who did, as it revealed the “anonymous” writer to our Ripoff report out of the wood pile, noneother than Carrie Young, herself, horsesinneed. This Ripoff Report above is not how I write and I don’t write things without documentation. I am not afraid to admit when we have done wrong and I am not afraid to confront my accusers. I do NOT hide behind an anonymous name and everything I write I sign my name to it. Just because I have an enormous amount of evidence against Ohana Rescue for trying to sabotage us, doesn’t mean that I am the only one out there that doesn’t care for them. If you have proof that I would deliberately post the above stated garbage, then let see it. Otherwise, you all are barking up the wrong tree because the only one who is responsible for such acts against another rescue is yours truly, Ohana Rescue.

Beverly Levitt sent me a comment on my blog on the Ripoff Report.  I didn’t accept it because it had nothing to do with the Ripoff Report or the point I was trying to get across.  I guess this upset her because she was unable to be heard and has extended her comment into a lenghty book.  Unlike other journalist, I will publish what she wrote.  Of course, after a year later of this incident, she is driven by hatred more than facts, but regardless here it is.

It has come to my attention that once again Domino Effect is attacking Ohana Rescue. There has been a rip off report done, much of which includes Kisses for Kings chalked full of lies and misinformation. I normally stay quiet and out of the rescue battles, because they deter from helping the horses. BUT when I have a horse here that received sub standard, to put it kindly care from a so called rescue, I have a DUTY to speak up period. Now I see that Domino has decided to sling mud and though they claim no responsibility for the lies and inaccurate rip off report done on Ohana Rescue, I know they and another very twisted advocate are very much involved. It’s about ego and stupidity. It’s about not standing up for your OWN actions. Actions that hurt the horses and undo all that decent rescues try to do on a daily basis. Now normally, I would leave this be, because Ohana is a high profile rescue, that works closely with law enforcement and has an impeccable reputation. Also because I have worked enough with them to know that they are good, decent folks, that bust their butts at a dirty, hard, long mission as God’s stewards. But Domino Effect decided to put my name up there in bright highlights and that my friends is where I draw the line. Their first lie being that I wrote about them to a reporter because I am friends with Ohana Rescue. I wrote to the reporter because a law enforcement officer brought me a horse from their rescue. Who left that rescue under weight, when by their own documentation, she arrived healthy and she received no vetting, no coggins, no farrier care and had a summer sore so neglected that even after two surgeries and ongoing care, we have yet to win the battle. I wrote to them because a “rescue” does not sell a horse with no vetting, no coggins, no farrier care and under weight. A rescue heals both mentally and physically and vets, rehabs, retrains and then re-homes. A horse trader sells a horse without any of the above. There is a grand difference between the two. So me being me I have responded to their report and feel they most likely will not allow it to be posted. So just so it’s on record, here it is. Let me add I commend Ohana Rescue for all they tried to do for KK. She got the test needed to find out if she could be helped. I use the same veterinarian, who is a incredible man and a rescue horse expert. He thinks the world of Ohana Rescue, has stated such to me and that is like GOLD in my eyes, as he has the expertise to know!

My post to Domino Effect: I have one of your horses here you rescued and sold to an officer of the law. She picked the horse up from your rescue at the age of 31 years old, almost 32. She knew this horse well, as you know and had been searching for her for 10 years. Katie by your admission to Jessica and lack of any paper work, had no vetting, no farrier care, was under weight (wasn’t by your pictures when you got her), and had been there for several months. Easily documented by your own posts where in the round pen that you state you took the picture, you show a fat healthy horse that you received. Plus there were pictures on your web site in June I believe, of Katie. In the pictures with Jessica, Katie is no longer a fat horse, but ribby, quite ribby. Also if you look closely at the bottom picture of your reunion, on the right rear leg, which would be on the left side of the picture at the fetlock, you can see the neglected summer sore sticking out, un-bandaged and unattended. It should remain wrapped and with antibiotic, as well as an intensive worming therapy to clear it of larvae that causes this most often. Because of your neglect, Katie has endured two surgeries on this summer sore. You tried to sell this 32 year old one eyed, sight diminished in the one eye, horse to the officer representing Katie as still being able to be a barrel racer to her amazement. It is ILLEGAL to sell a horse, which you did and transport it off your property without a coggins in the state of Florida, of which YOU did. Doing this you risked spreading disease period.

Yes, I don’t agree with your idea of “rescue”. Rescue entails removing the animal from jeopardy, vetting, farrier, teeth floats, rehabilitation of the horse, retraining and re-homing. Rehab includes both physical and mental healing. You stated yourself you don’t rehab horses on the news video with Channel 10 news. I watched it and was amazed as you stood in front of boxes of rejected fruit and produce donated by a grocery store because it is no longer viable for sale, that you feed to these horses. Yet, in Katie’s story you go on about rehabbing her. Please tell me how no vetting, no farrier care, weight loss by your OWN documentation and a neglected summer sore is rehabbing this horse? Which story is it Sir? And mind you, I use Sir lightly.

To adopt out an animal under weight, no vet care, no farrier care and a long neglected summer sore unattended by a veterinarian, which had to have surgery twice and we are still battling, is not responsible rescue. It is taking in a horse, feeding it the bare necessities and selling it. There is a big difference between rescue, rehab and re-home and horse trading Sir. So if you’d like to continue mentioning me…….by all means do. I have an officer of the law, actually two who aren’t real impressed with your rescue and both have been there. Both brought you to my attention, NOT Ohana Rescue. I have the horse, who is now at ideal weight, has had all vet and farrier care both by Jessica and here. To include coggins, shots, teeth float, surgeries, farrier every six weeks, follow up care and is living her life well tended in sanctuary. Might I mention she’s not barrel racing?

So let me state clearly I have no joined beef with you concerning Ohana Rescue. I speak up because of what you have said on a news report in your own words and after receiving a horse here, that you did absolutely no rescue care for. I speak for my own experience, not others. So if you’d like to start mentioning me in public posts Domino Effect then you had better get your facts straight and sweep off your own back porch. My report on you was because of YOUR actions taken with this horse period. Both actions that were negligent and also ILLEGAL. Bring it on…..but know when you do, that you had better make sure nothing and I do mean nothing you write is one bit less than documented proof. I have it………

Dinelle Ashcraft’s Response

It doesn’t appear like Domino is mud slinging at anyone, unlike Beverly Levitt here.  I mentioned in my blog that Beverly is friends with Carrie Young at Ohana Rescue and that Maryann Tobin composed an article with Beverly’s e-mail in it against the ranch regarding this horse Katie that we adopted a year ago.

First off, It took us several weeks to locate Katie because we had the owner’s name, but had track this person’s number and whereabouts.  When we found her, she was in a very bad situation and had not been well taken care of for quite some time.  She was living at the owner’s ex-husbands place where there was sheet metal all over the ground.  Katie had reared up and hit her head on the sheet metal roof sustaining a bad injury to her head.  She came in with the injury to her head and the sore on her leg.  It was explained to us that she had surgery done to her eye a few years back to have it removed due to an infection.  She was left out in a swampy pasture with no one taking care of her medical needs..  We were told that Katie had done barrel racing in her past, but she was NEVER advertised her to be a barrel racer, but an ex-barrel racer.

Here is one of my CL ads dated on 8/17/2012.

So your claims that she was advertised as a current competitive barrel racer is false.

I never denied that Katie was adopted without a coggins.  Katie was the first of many horses that came into us last summer.  Before the sudden overflow of horses, we were primarily just a domestic farm rescue with donkeys, goats, minis, sheep, llama, rabbits, ducks, and chickens.   We had a few horses the first year, but that was not our focus.

Last summer in 2011, the horses became high demand in need for rescue, so we opened our gates to start rescuing equine.  We didn’t know all of the rules and there was a lot Bob needed a refresher course on.  We did adopt a few horses out without coggins and we were not set up with the funds to give the medical care with teeth floating and shots at that time.  Shortly after Katie’s adoption, we filed our nonprofit status and then later lined up the rest of our legal paperwork.

We are not denying that looking back on Katie’s situation, we could have done more for her, but unfortunately at the time we were unprepared.  Katie was here for a short time, when Katie’s childhood owner found her and wanted to give her a forever home with her.  She never shared with us anything about Katie going to a retirement rescue.  In fact, she did send me an e-mail shortly after explaining to us her expense she had in Katie within the first 10 days and her frustration with her summer sore.  She explained to us step by step how to treat a summer sore in the future.

Jessica

  • Just wanted to share with you, the thing on Katie’s right rear leg is a summer sore. Once I got it cleaned out I was able to determine what it was. They are not fun to deal with. Not sure if you are familiar with them. They are caused by flies gettig inside a cut or wound and then they lay their eggs. It’s painful and very itchy for animals.Just in case one of your other horses, donkeys or cow have something that looks similar to what is on Katie’s leg you can treat it by mixing Ivermectin paste, DMSO and Nitrofurizon, then rub it on the sore daily or every other day depending on where the sore is. You can also prevent these sores by spraying with fly spray daily. Ivermectin,DMSO and nitrofurizon are fairly cheap items.I’m not sure what Bob was treating her leg with but it looked like Blu Kote or Wound Kote which in my opinion if probably one of the worse things someone can put on a summer sore. It isn’t doing anything to prevent more flies to eat away and lay eggs.I had to wrap Katie’s leg and sweat out the sore. If one of your horses gets one as bad as Katie you will need to pour some peroxide on it and then rub it till it bleeds. It will help and then you put the mixture on and wrap with saran wrap and a derby wrap (polo) or if it’s not too bad you can wrap with vet wrap. I’ve had katie for 6 days and Ive already got $600 into her.

The vet will be here on the 14th to give her the royl treatment. She will be getting all of her shots, pull her coggins and float her teeth. Her teeth are in bad shape too, no telling if she ever had care for them. They (teeth) could be contributing to her being under weight. I had my farrier come out too and Katie’s feet were not in good condition. So that’s another thing I will be battling. I wormed her when she got to my house. Do you know if Bob wormed her while she was in your care? My vet also suggested I worm her again on Monday and possibly a third time when he comes out on the 14th… So if you happen to get another horse that came with no records you might want to consider worming them a few times.

My biggest concern at this point is Katie not having a current coggins. I really should not have taken her off of your property without it. I’m risking my other horses health till she gets her coggins pulled.

Other then that, Katie is doing great. I’m trying to put some weight on her. She has adjusted to her surroundings well. I’m thrilled to have her at home with me. She has really gained my trust and is begininng to gain my husbands trust. She deserves nothing but the best and I will do what ever is necessary to make sure she has the best.

    Hope all is well.
    Jessica

I understand Jessica’s concerns and I sympathize with her frustration.  Katie was rescued from a bad situation as we were called in to do.  We brought her to safety until we could find placement for her.  Katie came in and left at the same weight.  She didn’t lose weight in our care.  Beverly claims to see this in my picture documentation, but she is looking at different views in which Katie was standing, side view versus front view.  All of my pictures of Katie are documented with dates of when the photos were taken and there are no signs of Katie losing weight to my knowledge then or now while she was in our care.

This was Katie on June 4, 2011, when she arrived here.

This was Katie on July 12, 2011.

This picture was take August 8, 2011, front view.

These pictures were taken the day Jessica picked up Katie.  Katie was in her 30s and had a sway back, but she was not losing weight in our care.

Bob was treating her summer sore, but according to Jessica, he was not treating it properly.  We regret that we were not capable to provide her with everything she needed at the time, but we were ecstatic to see her reunite with her childhood owner, as this was very heartwarming.

http://www.facebook.com/messages/#!/notes/domino-effect/reunion-of-the-heart-domino-effect-rescue-ranch/250473044984544

We also did not have adoption contracts at that time, so we didn’t have Katie under contract and never did we suspect that Jessica would send her off to a retirement rescue.  I believe that Katie went to Beverly Levitt’s rescue 3 months after she was adopted by Jessica.  Katie came in under poor conditions.  She was in no danger for needing immediate medical care, except for the summer sore that Bob had been treating.  We have learned a lot since Katie’s arrival and have made many changes over this past year on the care we take for our animals.

Beverly insists on harping on this one rescue to expose the Domino Effect’s efforts as being poor.   I have never met Beverly and she has never been to our gates.  She received a horse that we rescued 3 months after it went to its “forever home” after Jessica supposedly took care of all of Katie’s medical needs, so I would suspect that Katie should have arrived to Beverly’s facility in better condition than being here if this is the case.

Her experience with us is no more than third-party hearsay through another person’s frustration who adopted Katie from us.  Is Beverly just in her outcry from a past experience a year ago?  She surely is entitled to her opinion, but for her to publicly trash our facility without seeing first hand the conditions of our animals or how we conduct business today is wrong.

We are a legitimate rescue.  All of our horses have an up to date coggins.  All of our horses receive the medical care that is needed.  All horses are adopted out under an adoption contract, so that we can insure the safety of the equine’s future, so that the equines are not passed around after they leave our facility or living in unsafe environments without the proper medical care.

If Beverly knew anything about our rescue, she would know all of this for herself and would not be posting hate messages out on Facebook just because she is upset that someone mentioned her name.  She chose to submit her e-mail for publishing on Maryann Tobin’s article, which made it public news, I simply stated that she was friends with Carrie Young and she submitted an e-mail against our ranch on Maryann Tobin’s article.  This is far from bashing her and this is the absolute truth.

You will never see me post an “annonymous” article without leaving my name.  If you can’t leave your John Hancock, then you have no business posting it.

The BIG picture here is that Katie may not be alive today had we not rescued her from the environment she was in.  She was a one-eyed, underweight horse that every rescue in the area refused to take in.  We opened our arms and welcomed her here to the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch with no hesitation, which is our M/O.

One Rescue SABOTAGING another Rescue

*WARNING TO ALL RESCUES*

YOU COULD BE NEXT ~ IF WE DON’T PUT A STOP TO THIS!!!

For any of you who needed proof that Ohana is responsible for trying to SABOTAGE our rescue, HERE IT IS!!!

Last weekend one of our Facebook friends came to us and told us that Ohana had been on the news for rescuing a horse from a rescue that was burned up in flames down in Pasco County.  Sunday morning we were also notified that someone in Pasco County did a Ripoff Report on Ohana on Saturday, July 21, 2012, just after they were seen on the news.   The author to the Ripoff report is someone in Pasco County, which is where Ohana Rescue originated from in Hudson, Florida.   Judging by the information in the Ripoff Report it must be someone who has been their follower for quite sometime who must not have liked seeing Ohana’s recognition in the media.

We googled Ohana Rescue and found the Ripoff Report and read it.

Ohana Horse Rescue 501c3 non profit Carrie Young / Allen Wilson Fake Rescue / Fake Christians / Lie To Receive Donations / Lie About Adoptive Horses / Adopt To Minors / Lie About Equine Medical Conditions Brooksville, Florida

Ohana Rescue receives donations for horses and then puts the horses down and/or uses the money for other services that the donations were not solicited for. They refuse horses unless they have an extreme story that will bring in donations. They have been seen breeding Isabelle to a stallion claiming that it will help the mares skin condition. They adopt horses to families claiming they are sound to ride and really are out-of-control. They have adopted a horse to minors causing injuries to one of the minors. They are always attacking other rescue facilities trying to alleviate competition as stated by Carrie Young. Carrie Young has been noted for stating that her State Representative Uncle keeps her skeeky clean with the authorities. Carrie young has been reported as turning individuals into the authorities that call her for assistance with their animals. This rescue organization uses equine to beg money from the public and operates as a heartless business rather than a loving community service. They recently brought in thousands of dollars of individuals hard-earned money for a horse with a cracked skull from out-of-state and then immediately put the horse down. No offer of or return of the received donations. As an advocate for the horses it is my duty to warn the public when I am informed of individuals claiming to be a community service, that undermine true rescue organizations, and scam the public.

They find free animals on Craig’s List and then state that the animals are rescues and plea to the good-hearted people to donate.

Of course, amongst everything that was coming against us with this group of people attacking us, I did write a rebuttal on our behalf.

The Domino Effect Rescue Ranch has been falsely accused by certain individuals in order for them to serve a vengeance against us. There are no proven allegations against the ranch, but their hearsay to persuade the public to believe their lies with their motives stemming from pure hatred.

Please check out our video in which we just posted on You Tube presenting to the public the progress we made in 2011:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhGR-uLwFiE&feature=youtu.be

Furthermore, please join us on Facebook at the “Domino Effect” to see our daily progress here at the ranch:  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000030326601

Unlike other rescues, We provide a service here on Facebook for those who have surrendered their animals to the ranch, those who visit the ranch, and those who adopt the animals from us to join together to share in the progress with pictures and updates of the animals we take in, the time we share with them, and continue to give updates after they are adopted out. We provide this to the community, so that people can follow their loved animals and see the great homes they are placed in and the animals second chance in a new family.

We are open to the public and hope for you to comes see us here in Weeki Wachee area, expected or unexpected, as we are always open for visitors.

With many visitors who come to the ranch weekly, over 2,200 people who view our Facebook, over 200 whom have viewed our video of 2011, no proven allegations from the Department of agriculture or Animal Control, I’d say these allegations are proven to be false. As they say “The proof is in the puddin” Check us out, as we are truly the real deal and put countless hours into our rescue and spend many days serving the public, as they come to interact with the animals. We love what we do and it shows. It’s not about the monetary value, as we know that God provides and will keep our facility standing strong.

The Domino Effect Rescue Ranch is a Christ-Centered facility with a mission to first rescue, rehabilitate, and find “forever homes” for the animals that are taken in to our care. Secondly, our mission is to give back to the community by educating and entertaining through interacting the animals with the community as a public service. This not only serves as a therapeutic tool to the public, but also helps to rehabilitate, humanize, exercise, train, and evaluate the animals, so that we can better place them in more suitable homes that will best fit their needs.

As people from all walks of life meet us and interact with the rescued animals, they are learning a great respect for the work we do, bonding with these animals, and being a part of the “Domino Effect.”

Their connection makes a difference in these animals’ lives and ultimately in their own. As people join in on our daily activities and events, they are better able to see the needs here at the ranch.

The events and activities may vary from year to year, but the ultimate goal is to provide for the rescued animals and give them the best quality of life while they are in our care and place them in the best home suitable for their needs. While interacting these animals with the public, we are giving them a good quality of life, as well as therapeutic to everyone who joins us in our mission to be a part of the “Domino Effect.”

SUBMITTED: Monday, July 23, 2012

I would like to thank those that have defended Ohana in the course of all this. I had refused to rebut until it was suggested by a professional.

Lets start with me calling the authorities about a horse that Ohana was called on to rescue. This horse was so far emaciated that it would not have made the trip. The woman waited to long for the call for help. Yes, I did call the authorities. Our trailer would not have made the trip down the dirt road that was filled with ruts safely with a horse that couldnt even stand. Guilty…and thank you, because we know where this came from.

No, there is NO breeding here. It was mentioned that a pregnant mare’s hormones changed while pregnant and it could help a horse with skin problems, but it was never done. We are a rescue and we try to stop the over breeding. We geld all the stallions that come here. All are separated into their own paddocks until gelding is done. Again, we know where this came from..thank you..:)

??? Rehoming to a minor, and one that got hurt? Everyone that comes to Ohana signs a release form, and if they are underage, their parents have to sign it… we would never rehome to a minor, that would make the contract null and void, so not sure where this one came from..

Asking donations then putting a horse down??? They do not have their info straight. The horse that had the serious brain injury was brought to us from a Florida Show Barn, which we will not speak the name. We did everything we could for her, and all reports have been posted. Ohana has an open door policy and we have unexpected visitors all the time. We have nothing to hide.

The report states info about my family, big mistake, because they insinuated that he protects family by covering with his authority…oops, real big mistake…and what was said was..BECAUSE I GREW UP WITH A CONGRESSMAN AS AN UNCLE, THAT TENDS TO KEEP A PERSON SQUEAKY CLEAN, you know, protecting your name.. Competition, you have got to be kidding me..we have our hands full..please please more decent rescues open..the horses need more safe havens.

Ohana does take in the hard to place horses, the injured and the starved. We might get in a horse that is healthy once in a blue moon. We have horses here that have been with us for years. As far as EXTREME story….every horse that ends up in a rescue has a story..every horse. We do not scan Craigs List looking for free horses as others do, that can be flipped over for a profit a few days later…we receive calls and emails on a daily basis. If the horse isnt in real bad shape, we will try and help find that horse a home. If it is an emergency then we will make room here. We do not need any more horses here, but when a call comes in we will do our best to help. We are not in this for profit, there is no profit. We do not take in horses, and then turn around and adopt them out for monies. The last two horses that were rehomed, had no adoption fee…this report is just another way to try and bring Ohana down. Which hasnt worked..if we cannot take in the hard to place horses, and the horses that are in need of medical help, it is the horses that suffer. So this report attacks horses, not Ohana.

Everyone deserves to write a rebuttal in their defense, I totally agree.  ……But there is something VERY significant about this piece that was pointed out to me that I want you to see.

If you go back to the top of the page where someone wrote a Ripoff Report against the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch, you will see the author for this report:

Back in February, 2012, Bob was called to come to an elderly couple’s farm to “rescue” 6 horses from her dwelling in Plant City, Florida.

The elderly lady was wheelchair bound and her husband was bed-ridden due to a stroke. Bob initially was contacted by a friend of ours, who has also adopted 4 animals from us, about the horses in need. Her son’s medical provider was also the elderly man;s medical provider. She had been out to meet them in the recent months and she was now concerned for these 2 mares that this couple had in their possession.  The one mare in particular, Leah, had lost a significant amount of weight over the past few months and appeared emaciated.

When Bob initially spoke with the elderly lady on the phone before arriving there, she explained to Bob that she was in her 80s and her husband was bed-ridden after having a stroke. She, herself, is wheelchair bound and she was depending on family members to help her care for the horses, as she was unable to move about the property due to her disabilities. She asked Bob if he would take all 6 of the horses because she was in fear of the other 5 deteriorating as well, as she could not rely on anyone to be dependable enough to help her in their care.

Bob picked these 2 mares up, Leah and Sadie, and their 2 fouls, Paulie and Pinky on February 10, 2012.  A week later he returned to pick up the gelding, Riley, and the stallion, Spirit.

Leah came in to the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch with severe rain rot, a matted and broken mane with a thick, winter coat covering her emaciated body.  Leah was still nursing her yearling, Pinky, when she arrived at the ranch.  This was Leah on February 11, 2012, the next day after she arrived here at the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch.

Leah initially experienced bouts of diarrhea, as Bob had to slowly wean her onto grain.  The picture below was taken on March 4, 2012, after a day of grooming, cutting her mane, and pampering her, as she had just miscarried a foal the evening before, just 2 weeks after arriving at the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch.

Along with not getting the proper nutrition and nursing one foal on the outside and one fetus feeding off her on the inside, Leah health had slid downhill very quickly.  After she miscarried 2 weeks after arriving here, Leah steadily began to put weight on and regain her health.

By April 23, 2012, she had all of the boy’s heads turning, as she had transformed into a black beauty.

Tammy States  “Bob she looks so great and pretty now I am so glad we made the call you guys do a great job and treat all gods creatures as if they were your children God Bless you both and all that help at the ranch.”

Amber States:  “What a remarkable difference, you guys did so great!!”

Maxine States  “What a difference a little love makes x Well done x.”

Bob did a quick evaluation of Leah and we also had her checked by a vet to insure she was safe for riding.  Leah’s personality completely changed under saddle.  You could see her radiating with happiness every time she was ridden.  Leah was a former level 3 Dressage horse and she is clearly a very well trained horse and a pleasure to ride.

We had many ladies come out to the ranch following this to ride her, all of which complimented Leah on what a great gait she had and how beautifully she carried herself.  She was great on the trails and responded well to any cue that was given to her.  We would have loved to have kept her as one of our trail riders, had the right person not come along to love her as much as we did.

We had many come to visit Leah

And many who fell in love with her.

Leah after her bath on July 17, 2012.

Last week we had a mother and daughter come to see her from Port St. Lucie, Florida.  The mother’s daughter was looking for her first horse and Milly chose Leah for her daughter, Serina’s birthday gift.  Milly contacted me on Facebook on July 17, 2012, confirming that Leah was the one.

Leah’s Adventurous Trip to her New Home, Port St. Lucie, Florida

Bob joined the 6 potbelly pigs with Charlotte & Hamlett in the morning after bringing them in from his road trip the day before. He was busy feeding his crew and was soon to be off for another long day. Bob was in route to Port St. Lucie, Florida (3-1/2 hours away on the Southeast Coast) to deliver LEAH to her new home.

During his travels, he had a tire blowout on the interstate in Lakeland, Florida.

He managed to get the truck and trailer off at the nearest exit 2 miles up the road. His first available rest stop where he could seek help was none other than the Harley Davidson Dealership in Lakeland, Florida.

The manager came to Bob’s assistance and the two of them called all the tire dealers in Lakeland and no one had the size tire he needed to replace the blowout on the trailer. Instead he had to replace the 1 blowout with 2 tires, one on each side of the axle, that were the same size. Goodyear sent one of their trucks to the rescue to service the trailer on site at the Harley Davidson Dealership in Lakeland, Florida.

While he was waiting for his tire to be mounted, the North Lakeland Harley Davidson’s employees took very good care of him and Leah.

Rebecca States   “What a great horse sorry for what happened, but to stand there and eat with the tire guy and all that noise.”

He off-loaded her from the trailer while the repairs were being made.

Leah, of course, felt it equally her duty to mow their lawn while she waited.

EVERYONE loved her and were in awe at how calm she was while they fired-up and moved ALL 50 plus Harleys into the building. Maybe they were admiring her late model, jet black, 17hh, fully-loaded, HORES-powered ride.

Harley-Davidson/Buell of Lakeland States  “Congratulations Leah on your new home! All of us at Harley-Davison of Lakeland are thrilled to have been a part of your “Happily Ever After” Here’s to all the green pastures you can dream of.”

Amee shared via Harley-Davidson/Buell of Lakeland.   “What a wonderful story for Leah! So happy I got the chance to meet her, and more importantly how wonderful is it to know she now has a beautiful loving family. Congratulat…ions Leah, and glad we at Harley-Davidso of Lakeland could make your journey a little easier given the situation. May all your days be filled with sweet pastures and love. To all of my friends, be srue to read this awesome journey!”

Milly States   “We really appreciate it guys. Leah’s adjusting well in her new home with all the pampering. I changed the dressing on her leg wound, Bob, for the second day and she has been so good. Today we gave her carrots for a treat. She loves grazing out in the field with the other horses. We clipped her whiskers today so shes feelin fresh like a lady! (^~^)”

Jacinda States  “This is Awesome! Thank you to everyone at Harley-Davidson for being so nice and accommodating.”

After sight-seeing and an afternoon snack, he loaded Leah back on the trailer and they were on their way. He called me just outside of Orlando, Florida as they were traveling down Seven Dwarf Lane near Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

He arrived to the stable between 10-11 in the evening in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

He met the stable owners and shortly thereafter he met Leah’s new family.

Leah was presented to Serina as her birthday gift.

Kimberly States  “WHAT A BEAUTIFUL THING… SO HAPPY FOR THE FAMILY AND FOR LEAH, SHE IS A PRETTY GYRL”

Amber States   “It looks like she has a new amazing family.”

Milly treated Bob to dinner and cake, which was quite a treat after his long drive. Bob stayed with Leah and her new family until almost 1:00 a.m. in the morning while they got Leah settled in.

Bob traveled the rest of the night into the early morning back to the ranch, waking me up this morning around 7:00 a.m. in the morning. He came in to tell me about his travels and then went out to feed his crew before getting into bed.

I am so proud of Robert Delaney Ashcraft, as he will literally go the extra mile for anyone and any animal to insure they get the very best that they deserve. Bob is very dedicated to these animals and puts in every waking moment into running this ranch.

Just another GREAT DAY in the life of a rescue with many more to come. I thank everyone who has supported our mission through their generous donations, volunteering a helping hand, and giving our animals great homes. We could NOT do it without you all!!!

Leah’s First Day at the barn meeting new friends

Leah’s first day in Paradise with her new family in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Jacinda States  “Awwww… She looks amazing. And those fields, that is some serious grass! Im so happy for her! Congrats to her and her new owners. Thank you Domino Effect for giving this Beautiful girl the give of a second chance at life.”

Leah meeting new friends.

Milly States  “She has made some friends already, had a nice shower, been groomed, and taken for a nice stroll around.  She had a visit with the farrier today too!   We will probably start riding in the next couple of days once she settles in. :)”

Jacinda States   “Awww, congratulations Milly. She is such a sweet, Beautiful girl. And yall are lucky to have each other. Thank you for adopting her and giving her a forever loving home. She will repay you with a lifetime of love.”

Christine States  “Wow, well done!  Another great re-homing story brought to you by Domino Effect!”

Moses is a Newfoundland, Irish Wolfhound that was brought here to the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch back in September 2011.  He was very much-loved by his previous family, but with life changes brings uncontrolled circumstances that sometimes cause families to make the decision to give up their loved pets.  Here at the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch we want to keep previous families in touch with their loved animals for as long as possible through pictures and updates while they stay here at the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch and then move on to their new families.

Raney States  “The Newfoundland in him has given him the webbed paws…swimming may be in his future!”

Leslie and Trevor later adopted Moses from the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch and he went to live with them and their 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 3 horses.

He adapted well to his new surroundings and his new family.

Raney States  “The upside down smile with the tongue hangin out…priceless!”

Trevor adopted Moses as a companion dog to accompany him throughout his days.

Leslie sent Moses to Canines for Christ to learn to be a service/companion dog for Trevor.

Raney has kept up with Moses over the past 10 months.  We posted updates on Moses here on Facebook for the first month he was here and then Raney befriended Leslie on her Facebook after she adopted him.  In July 2012, 10 months later, Raney met up with us to follow us to Trevor’s Farm to see Moses for the first time.

Raney reunited with Moses for a few hours and finally got to meet his new family, Trevor & Leslie.

Raney shared Moses’ baby pictures with Leslie, as they shared stories back and forth about Moses.   Raney gave Moses big hugs goodbye, until they meet again.

Raney’s connection with Moses did not end, just because she could no longer keep Moses, but yet another relationship has blossomed with Moses’ new family, as Raney keeps in touch with Leslie through Facebook and follows Moses life through pictures and updates.

Just another day here at the “Domino Effect”

” My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness”

” My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness”

II Corinthians 12: 7-10

I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.

9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF STRYDER ~ HOOFBEATS IN HEAVEN

by Domino Effecton Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 9:36pm ·

In all walks of life, we must face the most natural, but heart-wrenching reality of losing a loved one, as God giveth and he taketh away, leaving us with beautiful memories to carry us through our loss.

Stryder was rescued initially by the Magic Beans Village Foundation who is a nonprofit organization in Safety Harbor who are dedicated to providing programs and services for able-bodied and developmentally disabled children and adults.

Due to his arthritis, he could not be used as a special needs horse, therefore, he was moved on to our rescue in hopes to place him in a forever home to live out his days. Stryder came to this rescue underweight after putting a lot of weight on him before his arrival to us.

As Stryder was at the Magic Beans Village for a spell, he won the hearts of many, leaving behind a special young lady, Kacey Prescott, who had a deep love for Stryder and checked up on him weekly, as he was in her thoughts daily.

We had many visitors out to the ranch who met Stryder and got acquainted with him for 8 wonderful weeks. He made many friends and played a special part here at the ranch. He was the largest horse here at the ranch, as he was 17hh. However, due to his gentle disposition and calm demeanor, he was a target for the minis’ mischievous ways, as they thought they were 10-feet tall.

Several weeks back we noticed Stryder’s leg to be quite large in size with intense swelling. We called the vet and was told to ice his leg frequently to see if we could control the swelling.

After the weekend had passed, Stryder’s leg would decrease in size after being soaked, but shortly later increase in size. Bob felt an emergency vet call was necessary to shed light on his condition.

The first young lady came to visit who was fresh out of school. She brought an assistant with her to walk him through the steps of her examination. She was quite alarmed by Stryder’s leg swelling and scheduled a followup visit a few days later to come out anticipating x-rays and possibly an ultrasound to be done on his leg. In the meantime, she set us up with antibiotics and more Bute to control his pain level. We confined him to the stall to give him limited movement on his legs. Bob continued to soak his leg and redress his leg daily until she came back to visit.

On Friday she came out for her scheduled appointment, this time bringing with her another veterinarian with more experience to take a look at Stryder’s leg. At this time, they no longer thought x-rays were necessary and felt that the swelling was due to an abscess in Stryder’s other hoof, causing the leg that he beared the majority of his weight on to swell. They wrapped the hoof with drawing salve to draw out the abscess and wrapped both legs for support. Bob was given instructions on how to care for Stryder while he recovered from this abscess. Stryder was doing quite well and seemed to be improving.

Thursday morning, this past week, we awoke to Stryder lying in his stable refusing to get up. Bob called the vet out for another emergency visit and spent a half-hour getting Stryder back to his feet.

When the veterinarian showed up this time, they walked Stryder around the back yard, to the front, and outside the gates where they did several tests on him to get a more accurate prognosis to his condition.

Stryder’s blood pressure had sky-rocketed to 96 beats, as he was in extreme pain. The vet opted to give Stryder a sedative. She checked Stryder’s pulse and Stryder was still at 74 beats. They did a rectal test and decided that they needed to look further. They checked Stryder’s heart and he was at 63 beats. More pain medicine was given. Then they checked Stryder for acid reflux and still nothing. She checked Stryder’s beat and he was still over 60. At this point, she opened Stryder’s mouth and noticed his gum line was white with a heavy purple line following his teeth. She looked at Bob at this point and said “this horse is toxin.” She stated that his kidneys or something had started shutting down and that was why his legs were swelling due to the toxins going to his legs. At that point, Bob said “what can I do.” The vet said we could take him to the hospital and try surgery costing between 6,000 to 8,000 dollars, but she did not feel as if Stryder would make it to the hospital. Bob stated that Stryder had been living with a certain amount of pain and discomfort due to his arthritis when he came here. Knowing what he had went through these past few weeks and seeing how elevated his pain was now and the pain medicine not touching it, Bob said I have to do what is more humane than anything else for Stryder. Bob chose to let Stryder go and put him out of his suffering. It was an extremely hard decision to make, but one that Bob will stand behind.

Stryder’s passing left us with heartache, as we pushed through the next few days trying to move on. Stryder will not be forgotten, as his gentle spirit will reside here at the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch.

Stryder left behind many who loved and shared many memories with him.

Kacey Prescott shared: “I’m sorry about styder. I cried for hours last night when my mom told me until I finally fell asleep. I know you tried. Thank you so much. He was loved until god wanted him to be in heaven. I know he’s in a good place.”

Her last words to Stryder: “The times we had together were unforgettable and I will always remember them. Helping you get from barn to barn and hearing your sweet nicker as I walked down the barn aisle. I won’t ever forget you and that’s a promise I wont ever break”

Jennifer Tresh shared: “I know God sent Stryder for a number of reasons, but the endurance that boy had was amazing….He taught us a lot about never giving up. I know how hard it is. When Stryder colicked, I cried for days….since they thought he would go down then. Seems like he lived long enough to have us all meet, and bring some joy to your place for awhile.

It is obvious that everyone there is surrounded by love. It’s amazing that all the evil in the world couldn’t break down that love….I’m so thankful that Stryder and Trinity found a home there. It is truly God’s work.”

Kimberly Young shared: “The first time I came out to volunteer on the ranch, I spent some time walking around with Ashley and kind of introducing myself to the animals, some of them through chain-linked fencing, some of them through chicken wire, and some of them by just simply walking up to them and reaching over the wood fence post and touching their nose. That’s how I met Stryder, the instant I touched him I knew that I was gonna be attached to him heart and soul.

He had such a gentle, calm, spirit, I couldn’t help myself to be so drawn to him. He was so beautiful. I knew I wanted to spend a lot of time with Stryder, I wanted to brush him and bathe him and take him out of the corral & walk with him. I just wanted to love him with an over-abundance of attention.

Unfortunately, I had a family emergency and I had to leave early that day. So I was not able to spend the time with him that I had wanted to.

The next Saturday I came back for another adoption day/open house and I immediately went to Stryder … He was so shiny, Bob had given him a bath and he had a glow to him that just gave him such a lift on life. His coat was soft and smooth. I was excited. I was telling Stryder how beautiful he was, rubbing his silky coat, and scratching behind his ears.. He was loving the attention. I gave him lots of kisses on his forehead and said to him “My Stryder, I can’t wait to walk with you.” He lifted his head as if he were responding “I know” I gave him a pat on his chest and told him I’d be back later. If I had only known….

In the short time that I got to spend with this magnificent horse, I can honestly say that He left a lasting impression and shares a very special place in my heart. Just like my mom (who passed away from Kidney Failure) I know that he is in a better place, where there is no pain & they are not suffering.

SHE IS HIS ANGEL~ HE IS HER WINGS, together they are running wild and free watching over you and me… RIP Stryder.”

Stryder has left a lasting impression here at the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch and his memory will carry on. As we cherish each animal who comes to the Domino Effect Rescue Ranch to share their lives with us, we sometimes have to say our good byes not as we had planned, but as life’s direction would take us.

We say good bye for now as his memory we will cherish in our heart forever.

“The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away.” Blessed be the name of the Lord.
